How to be grounded
HOW TO BE GROUNDED?
Walking barefoot in the grass or down the beach can be calming, balancing, or energizing. You might think it’s because of the sun on your face or the wind in your hair, but there’s more to it than that. Connecting to the earth provides you with something more: Electrons. When you touch the ground, your body absorbs the free electrons and all the amazing benefits they provide. This is called being ‘grounded.’
We live our lives mostly insulated from the earth (wearing rubber-soled shoes, living indoors, driving in our cars, etc). Over time, this causes our bodies to become depleted. Touching the ground replenishes our electron balance and restores our lost connection to the earth’s energy.
We’d all like to spend more time in nature in direct contact with the earth, but spending hours in nature every day is impractical for most. That’s where Earthing products come in. They are like extension cords that allow you to connect to the earth when you can’t be out in nature. They allow you to easily incorporate grounding into your everyday life whether you are relaxing, working, or even sleeping.
THE EFFECTS OF GROUNDING
The most immediately noticeable effect people report from being grounded is that they ‘feel better’. This has been described as a feeling of greater peace within themselves, feeling calmer with reduced stress levels. If there is pain present then often this is reduced or disappears completely.
People who notice negative effects from using computers or other electrical equipment report a reduction or elimination of these effects when grounded.
Since the products we sell are not CE marked as medical devices currently, we are not permitted to make any medical claims in relation to the effects of grounding.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
The earth beneath your feet provides you with food and water. It gives you a surface to sit, stand, walk, run, swim, climb, play, and build on. It also provides you with something very surprising – electrons. When you touch the ground with your bare feet or body, the electrons flow into you. This is called being “grounded.”
The earth’s surface has a virtually limitless supply of mobile electrons that gives the ground we walk on (as well as lakes and oceans) a natural negative electric charge. When you touch your body to the ground, it dissipates static electricity and extraneous environmental electrical charges that are on you.
At the same time, you receive a charge of energy in the form of free electrons and your body synchronises with the natural frequencies of the earth.
WE'RE ALL LIVING DISCONNECTED.
In our modern society, we no longer sleep on the ground or walk barefoot everywhere we go, like our ancestors did. We wear shoes and live in houses that shelter us from the elements but in doing so, we’ve disconnected ourselves from this important source of electrons.
As long as you are grounded, your body continues to absorb enough electrons to maintain the same electrical potential as the earth. This amount of electrons varies significantly between people depending upon their lifestyle and activity, and it is impossible to measure.
